Mechanism of action:
Oclacitinib inhibits the function of a range of pruritogenic and pro-inflammatory cytokines, as well as allergy-related cytokines that are dependent on JAK1 or JAK3 enzyme activity. It has limited effect on JAK2-dependent cytokines involved in hematopoiesis. Oclacitinib does not work as a corticosteroid or as an antihistamine.
Indications:
Control of pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis and atopic dermatitis in dogs over the age of 12 months.
Contraindications and Warnings:
APOQUEL should not be used in breeding dogs or pregnant or lactating cats.
Consult your pet veterinarian if your pets feel any difficulties or are facing any side effects which are mentioned above..
Dosage & Administration:
Always use Apoquel exactly as your pet's doctor advised you to. Before using, read the instructions on the label.
Side effects:
Majority of the side effects of this medicine do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. Side effects are infrequent, moderate, and largely self-limiting. However, if the side effects persist, consult your pet's doctor.
