SAFEHEART 5 is a veterinary specific USFDA approved inodilator medicine prescribed for management of congestive heart failure in dogs. It has a unique dual mode of action in the form of positive inotropic effect and balanced vasodilatory effect which strengthens the heart muscle contractility and effectively increase cardiac output. By dilating both arteries and veins simultaneously and increasing tissue perfusion, it effectively minimizes tissue congestion and also reduces cardiac fatigue. SAFEHEART 5 is available as easy chewable tablets for better palatability and dosage convenience.
USES OF SAFEHEART 5
Management of the signs of mild, moderate or severe (modified NYHA Class IIa, IIIb or IVc) congestive heart failure in dogs due to atrioventricular valvular insufficiency (AVVI) or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM)
Working Mechanism
Pimobendane, a benzimidazole-pyridazinone derivative, is a non-sympathomimetic, non-glycoside inotropic drug with vasodilative properties. Pimobendane exerts a stimulatory myocardial effect by a dual mechanism of action consisting of an increase in calcium sensitivity of cardiac myofilaments and inhibition of phosphodiesterase (Type III). Pimobendane exhibits vasodilating activity by inhibiting phosphodiesterase III activity.
