- Otitis externa
- Surgical wounds, abrasion & abscess
- Pyoderma
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Ofloxacin: It is a synthetic fluoroquinolone. It inhibits the supercoiling activity of bacterial DNA gyrase, halting DNA replication of bacteria.
Miconazole, the active ingredient of VETACHLOR-M 100 ML SAVAVET, is an azole derivative. It has poor oral absorption and rapid clearance and is, thus, used predominantly for topical treatment of localized superficial infections. Miconazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, a major component of fungal cell membranes. This interferes with the barrier function of the membrane and with membrane-bound enzymes. A formulation containing chlorhexidine and miconazole is used as an effective treatment of canine Malassezia dermatitis. It is also effective against yeast complicating canine otitis externa and works against Gram-positive bacteria like Staphylococcus intermedius which is a primary pathogen involved in bacterial skin infections in small animals.
- Prolonged use of topical steroid on wounds may result into delayed healing and the owner is strongly dissuaded for the same.
- Prevent the pet from licking the affected area after application of Wokazole Plus.
- Wokazole Plus has been determined safe for use in both dogs and cats.
- Maximum length of the treatment period should not exceed more than 14 days or as directed by the veterinarian.
- Safety in pregnant and lactating female pets has not been warned. Consultation from the veterinarian is deemed compulsory before using.
