VIV KETO 100ML VIVALDIS is a veterinary specific anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial drug prescribed by the vet for treatment of bacterial, fungal and yeast infections. MECHANISM OF ACTION
Ketoconazole has is an anti-fungal with both fungistatic and fungicidal effects. It is thought to directly affect cellular membrane permeability and decreased cellular metabolism and growth in fungi ultimately causing cell death. Ketoconazole also has some anti-inflammatory properties and can suppress T-lymphocyte production.
Chlorhexidine, on the other hand, is a broad-spectrum biocide effective against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and fungi. It inactivates microorganisms with a broader spectrum than other antimicrobials (e.g. antibiotics) and also exhibits a quicker kill rate than other antimicrobials (e.g. povidone-iodine). It has both bacteriostatic (inhibits bacterial growth) and bactericidal (kills bacteria) mechanisms of action, which depend on the concentration used. It kills by disrupting the cell membrane.
