MECHANISM OF ACTION
Cypermethrin, the active component of CISAFLUX ZOETIS, belongs to the class of pyrethroid insecticides. It kills insects by disturbing normal function of the nervous system by delaying the closing of the channels that allow sodium flow into the nerves (Na/K Pumps necessary in nerve impulse transfer). This leads to release of multiple nerve impulses instead of just one which in turn causes stimulation of other nerves as well which were not originally targeted.
Aside from this, it also inhibits Y-aminobutyric acid receptors, (causing excitability and convulsions) calcium uptake by nerves and monoamine oxidase (an enzyme that breaks down neurotransmitters).
